The Auburn University Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers was the first ASCE Student Chapter founded in the Deep South and one of the first in the nation.
Since their founding in 1921 they have been a leader within the ranks of ASCE Student Chapters and on Auburn University’s campus. With a membership of over 100 students they are among the largest and most active campus groups at Auburn.
The Montgomery Branch is excited to work with the Auburn Student Chapter — assisting in mentoring, sharing ideas, and partnering in outreach.

River Region Pre-College Outreach
The Montgomery Branch awards annual scholarships to graduating high school seniors with an interest in civil engineering.
In addition, the Branch is excited to be partnering with the Auburn University Student Chapter to reach out to schools across
the River Region. Our goal is to inform kids about all of the exciting choices in civil engineering and to encourage them to
pursue their dreams. This work will involve speaking to local science, math, and engineering clubs; forming relationships with
school administrators and faculty; and demonstrating engineering through fun and thought provoking activities and events.
“What Do Civil Engineers Do?” Video provides a quick overview of civil engineering as told by young engineers working on fascinating projects. If you look around, civil engineering is everywhere! Meet three civil engineers whose work is having a real impact on people’s lives. Whether involved in projects underground, on huge structures or meeting the water needs of developing communities, these engineers are making a difference. See if you have what it takes to be a civil engineer.
